Funeral services for Mrs. Evelene Peltier, age 86, of Norman, will begin at 10:00 am Thursday, March 21, 2013 in The Chapel of the Havenbrook Funeral Home, 3401 Havenbrook Street in Norman.

Evelene was born January 15, 1927 in Lexington, Oklahoma the daughter of Ben and Dora (Hill) Graham.  She passed away Saturday evening, March 16, 2013 at the Holiday Heights Nursing Home in Norman. 

Evelene was raised in Cleveland County, where she attended country schools.  She lived in Noble, Oklahoma for more than 30 years before moving to Norman in 1993.  Evelene was employed as a housekeeper for the University of Oklahoma for 12 years, retiring in 1987.  She also worked for Clark’s Cleaners of Norman for many years.
During her retirement, Evelene surrounded herself with what she loved the most; her family, her church and listening to gospel music.  She was a simple lady with an incredible faith and commitment to Jesus Christ and her children.  She was happiest when she was with her family and worshiping in her church.  Evelene was a member of the Riverlife Church of God in Moore, Oklahoma.

Survivors include her two sons; John Woods and his wife, Joyce of Norman, and Jeff Peltier; one daughter, Deborah Allred and her husband, Ralph of Hugo, Oklahoma; four grandchildren; John Paul Woods of Norman, Jim Allred of Norman, Stacy Allred of Hugo, Oklahoma and Ralph Allred, Jr. of Hugo, Oklahoma; and six great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Virgil Woods in March of 1982; her husband, Gene Peltier in July 2004; two daughters, Virginia Woods in November 1972 and Roberta Woods in December 1975; two sisters and five brothers.

Arrangements for Evelene and her family were placed in the care of the Vice family at the Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman.
