Montgomery, Ann, 80, of Norman, Oklahoma passed away Monday, November 1, 2010 in Noble, Oklahoma at the Noble Health Care.  Ann was born December 31, 1929 in Lexington, Virginia to Horatio Thompson and Mildred Goodman.

She was a true southern lady with a great sense of warmth and hospitality.  This is evident by the fact that she never quite lost her Virginia accent.  Ann grew up in historic Rockbridge County, Virginia graduating from Fairfield High School in 1947.  She later attended King College in Tennessee.  Ann married Alan Thomas Montgomery, May 13, 1950 at the Old Stone Church in Timber Ridge, Virginia.  In the early years of marriage, Alan was located by the Air Force to Biloxi, Mississippi and San Antonio, Texas.  Later they moved back to Virginia where they lived until moving to Oklahoma in 1972.  Ann spent the rest of her life living in Norman, Oklahoma.  She made many friends in Norman over the years working in Friendship International and being active in the First Presbyterian women's circle and thrift store.  Ann loved observing nature and working outside in her flower gardens.  She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother working tirelessly to insure her families well being.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband, Alan; son, Kevin Montgomery of Norman; daughter, Kristen Ramos of Norman; grandchildren, Amber Kotzum and husband Michael of Moore, OK, Henery and Maxwell Montgomery of Norman, Tyler Alvarez and Alex Ramos of Norman; brothers, Davenport Thompson of Waynesboro, VA and Charles Thompson of Timber Ridge, VA.

The family would like to thank the staff of Noble Healthcare for their great showing of kindness for Ann during her time there.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 555 S. University Blvd., Norman, OK 73069.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M., Friday, November 5, 2010 at the First Presbyterian Church with interment following at Sunset Memorial Park under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home.

The family will greet friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, November 4, 2010 at the Havenbrook Funeral Home, 3401 Havenbrook Street in Norman.
