John W. “Bill” Lehwald Jr., 65, passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2011 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
He was born January 2, 1946 in Chicago, Illinois to John and Marie (Hueglin)
Lehwald. Bill was united in marriage to Jane Hurst on June 24, 1967 in Midwest
City, OK.
Bill graduated from Oak Park-River Forest High School, Oak Park, Illinois in
1964 and from the University of Oklahoma in 1983 with a Bachelor of Arts. He
owned Acorn Painting and contracted in Norman for over 30 years. He also
authored the “Churchmouse,” a national, weekly publication for numerous church
bulletins. Bill loved his family, spending time traveling and being outdoors.
He enjoyed searching for antiques across the nation with his wife and studying
WWII history, as well as adding to his extensive jigsaw puzzle and coin
collections.
Bill is survived by his wife, Jane; one son, J.W. and wife Stacey of Tulsa, OK;
one brother, Charles, of Eldorado, Arkansas; two sisters, Carol Dull of Shelby,
Michigan and Mary Lofgren and husband Lars of Fountain Hills, Arizona; and one
grandchild, Maya.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held 9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m., Friday, September 9, 2011 at
Havenbrook Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 10, 2011 in the
Chapel of the Havenbrook Funeral Home with
interment following in Sunset Memorial
Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home.
