Herbert Edward Hamburger, 76, passed away Thursday, March 26, 2015.
Herb was born March 28,
1938 at home in Weatherford, Oklahoma to Everett and Bernice Hamburger. Herb
married his wife of 50 years, Patricia Ann French , August 7, 1965 in
Weatherford, OK.
Herb graduated from Weatherford High School, went on to Hills Business School in
Oklahoma City and served in the Army National Guard. He worked in a variety of
different professions, including Novel Ideas as Sewing operations manager,
Wrecker Driver for 16 years and was the Postmaster of the Union Post Office at
the University of Oklahoma until he retired.
Herb liked to dabble on Ebay, loved fishing, and stamp collecting. He enjoyed
watching his children participate in swimming, soccer, and baseball. Herb was an
avid OU fan!
A member of the Child SHARE group of Oklahoma, Herb was a kind and gentle man
who loved his family. He never knew a stranger.
Herb is survived by his wife Patty, sons Kyle Hamburger of Norman and (his wife)
Julie Hamburger, Kreg Hamburger of Denver, CO, Steven Hamburger, Chris
Hamburger, Orlando Hamburger, Landon Hamburger and Robbie McKeithen, all of
Norman. His grandchildren, Luke and Jenna Hamburger; Siblings Arlen Hamburger
and wife Joyce Hamburger from Weatherford OK, and Dale Hamburger and wife Eileen
Hamburger of Sand Springs, OK. Brother in law, Duane Rea of Honolulu, HI.
Preceded in death by sister Joy Rea of Honolulu, Hawaii, and parents Everett and
Bernice Hamburger of Weatherford, OK
Viewing at Havenbrook Funeral Home, 3401 Havenbrook St., Norman, Oklahoma,
Wednesday, April 1 from 11 am to 8 pm and Thursday, April 2 from 8 am to 10 am.
A family member will be there for visitation from 11 - 1 pm on Wednesday, April
1.
Services to be held at McFarlin United Methodist Church in Norman, 419 S.
University Blvd., Norman, Oklahoma on Thursday, April 2, 2015 at 11:00 am.
Family dinner will be at church directly following service.
Graveside Service at Sunset Memorial
Park Cemetery, 2301 E. Indian Hills Road, Norman, OK at 2:30 pm.
