Willard Andres (W.A.) Gallaher, 82, of Norman, Oklahoma returned to the Lord peacefully with his loving family and friends at his side Monday, January 6, 2014 in Norman. 

W. A., a member of the Kiowa Tribe, was born in Lawton, Oklahoma on February 9, 1931 to Ernest Wesley and Callie Clark Gallaher. He attended Chilocco Indian School. He later served as president of the Chilocco Alumni SE Chapter.

He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 2 years, the Air National Guard for 37 years and the Army National Guard for 4 years.  W. A. was a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service retiring after 34 years. He also retired after 15 years working for the University of Oklahoma Norman Transit.  He married Neldean Folsom on September 29, 1950, and they raised their children, Willard Clark, Andrea and Katherine.

W. A. enjoyed classic cars, participating in parades where he drove his antique Cutlass convertible and supported air shows. He also enjoyed attending pow-wows, Red Earth and traveling throughout the U.S. and overseas with his wife.

He loved spending time with his family and his Boston Terrier, Tylo and his Chihuahua, Honey.

He will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He will be greatly missed by his friends that he met with for breakfast for many years on Saturday mornings.

W. A. will be missed and is survived by his wife; son, Willard Clark Gallaher; two daughters, Andrea Sherwood and Katherine Curley; 5 grandchildren, James, Jennifer, Apryl, Austyn and Nathan; and 4 great-grandchildren, Pierce, Shealynn, Jadon and Heavenly. 

He is preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Clara Rose Gallaher; and brother, Elliott Gallaher. 

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of W.A. Gallaher to the American Diabetes Association, 4334 NW Expressway, Ste. 265, Oklahoma City, OK 73116.
