Collins, Bob R., 82 passed away Tuesday, October 9th, 2012 in Norman, Oklahoma at his home with his family by his side.
He was born November 4th, 1929 in Snyder, Oklahoma to James Hesker Collins and Gladys "Lance" Collins. Bob was united in marriage on
January 1, 1955 in Norman, Oklahoma to Joyce Chapman.
Bob was retired from OG&E after 33 years of service. He was a Christian and
loved the Lord. He had a passion for helping others with their cars and
socializing with his friends. He loved having coffee with his buddies at J-Pats
and Braums. Bob loved buying, selling and tinkering with cars. Some of his
favorites were the Box Lincoln and pick-ups just to name a few. He enjoyed
going to car auctions, garage sales and estate sales with his friends and going
to Thunderbird Casino.
Bob was survived by his wife, Joyce Collins of 57 years; Son, Brad Collins of
Norman, Oklahoma; daughter, Linda Campbell and husband Stann of Norman,
Oklahoma; one sister, Patricia Ann Imhoff and husband James of Norman, Oklahoma;
five grandchildren, Courtney Boaz and husband Matt, Andy Hailey, JoAnn Stiles
and husband Aaron, Heather Meek and husband Jesse of Norman, Oklahoma, Cade
Campbell of Texas; two great grandchildren, River Meek and Noah on the way.
He
is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, JR Collins, Troy Collins
and Wayne Collins; one Sister, Merlene Loeffelholz.
The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Lindsey, nurse Tracie, and
to Lifecare. Visitation will be held 9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m., Friday, October 12,
2012 at Havenbrook Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 13, 2012 in the
Chapel of the Havenbrook Funeral Home with interment following at Sunset
Memorial Park, Norman, Oklahoma. Arrangements for Bob and his family have been
placed in the care of the Vice Family at the Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman.
