Charles Lynch “Charlie” Coleman was born July 12, 1930 in Wichita Falls, Texas. He married Elizabeth Ann Coleman on November 27, 1952.

He graduated from Norman High School in 1948. Charlie lettered in track, basketball, and football, winning the state championship in track for the 440-yard dash. Charlie attended the University of Oklahoma from 1948-1952 and served in the army as a combat engineer in a South Korea division.  After being discharged from the army, Charlie reentered OU and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Finance. He also obtained one year towards a Master’s Degree. While at OU, he was selected along with 24 other students as Big Man on Campus. Charlie was a member of the track team at OU for three years and won the Big Seven in the 440-yard dash. In 1950, he set a new record at Michigan State in the 600-yard indoor run. He also set a new record at the Kansas Relays as part of a spring medley relay. Charlie spent the majority of his life in real estate and real estate development.

The three greatest loves of his life were his family, his friends, and his country. He frequently said he was the most happily married man he ever knew. All who knew his wife, Annie, can easily understand why.

Charlie is survived by his daughter Lisa Schlueter (Brach) along with their children Ryan and Annie: a daughter, Laura Matheson (Alan) along with their children, Colton, Sarah, and Carter: and a daughter Lynda Coleman and her two daughters Harper and Chloe. Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ann, and eldest daughter, Stephanie who is survived by her son Ashur.

Visitation will be Friday, October 4, 2013, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Havenbrook Funeral Home.  Graveside Services are Saturday, October 5, 2013, 10:00 a.m., at Sunset Memorial Park in Norman.
