Diana Maria Letta, 65, passed away Sunday, January 16, 2011 in Norman, Oklahoma.  She was born July 22, 1945 in Holyoke, Massachusetts to Genarino and Theresa (Croce) Candella.  Diana was united in marriage on August 20, 1966 in Herkimer, New York to Vincent S. Letta.

Diana was a school teacher for 25 years before retiring in 2002.  She was a member of the 50's club, a volunteer at Norman Regional Hospital as well as St. Mark’s Catholic church of Norman, and was instrumental in coordinating food distribution every year for the “Christmas Store”.  Diana was also a member of St. Joes Women’s Club and was very active in the Norman YMCA.  The family loved her cooking and her grandchildren loved climbing into bed with her, telling stories and singing songs for hours.  Diana enjoyed reading mysteries, gardening, the theater, arts and crafts, and walking along the lake feeding the ducks.

Diana is survived by her husband, Vincent of the home; her father, Genarino Candella; four daughters, Jacquelyn Letta Newkirk of Marietta, CA, Jennifer Bryza and husband Keith of Ashburn, Virginia; Joelle Letta of New York, NY and Jaime Cantu and husband Adrian of Richardson, TX; one brother, Robert Candella of St. Louis, MO; one sister, JoAnn Chevalier and husband Michael Graham of Brandon, FL; and seven grandchildren. 

She is preceded in death by her mother, Theresa Candella.

Memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society, 2420 Springer Drive, #205, Norman, Oklahoma 73069-3965, hospice of your choice, and/or www.ChrisElliottFund.org.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. with prayer at 7:30 P.M., Friday, January 21, 2011 at Havenbrook Funeral Home, 3401 Havenbrook St., Norman.

Mass of a Christian Burial will be held 11:00 A.M., Saturday, January 22, 2011 at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, 3939 W. Tecumseh Rd., Norman under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home.
