Harms, Kathy L., 67, passed away Saturday, May 12, 2012 in Norman, Oklahoma.  She was born October 5, 1944 in Shattuck, Oklahoma to Bernie and Flora (Rindskopf) Harms. 

Kathy was a special education teacher for 36 years before retiring in 2009 and a Chaplain at St. Anthony Hospital and Children's Hospital for many years.  She was a member of St. Marks the Evangelist Catholic Church, the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCI) and the Reading Council for OKC Schools.   She enjoyed reading mystery novels, word search, and volunteering at the school helping children learn to read.  Kathy was Teacher of the Year while teaching at Hayes Elementary.  She was an unselfish, giving person and will be missed by all that knew and loved her.

Kathy is survived by close friends, Barbara Smith of Norman, Lynn Cline, Dr. Regina Smith, Thomas Dean Cline, Michelle and Michael Kemery, LaDawn Deathridge; and a host of other friends, church school friends, and especially her students. 

She is preceded in death by her parents; and her grandfather.

A gathering for friends in honor of Kathy will be held from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm, Friday, May 18, 2012 at Havenbrook Funeral Home.

Services will be held at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, May 19, 2012 with Father Tom Boyer officiating, at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, 3939 W. Tecumseh Rd., Norman with interment following in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.  Arrangements for Kathy and her family were placed in the care of the Vice Family at  the Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman, Oklahoma.
