Marie E. Cervi , 87, passed away Sunday, Aug. 21, 2011, in Norman. She was born Jan. 22, 1924, in Soper to Douglas and Beatrice (Crawford) Herman.

Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, with inurnment following in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Marie was united in marriage on June 7, 1947, in Harrison, N.Y., to Justin J. Cervi , Sr. Marie enjoyed playing bridge, reading stories, flower gardening and ballroom dancing. She loved spending time with her family, attending her son's sporting events and traveling the United States. Marie 's home was inviting, and she always had food prepared for her son's friends and anyone who just happened to stop by for a visit. Her sons will always remember her coffee cakes and banana cakes.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and three sisters.

Marie is survived by her husband of 64 years, Justin J. Cervi , Sr.; four sons, Doug and wife Kelly of Mays Landing, N.J., Jay and wife Sheri, Bob and wife Sarah and Don and wife Dawna, all of Norman; sister, Aurlia Jo Looney of Norman; 10 grandchildren, Tony, Trelawney, Kyle, Dominic, Tyler, Kayla, Jason, Lauren, Lane and Cole; and seven great-grandchildren, Cruz, Carson, Graham, Parker, Ella, Campbell and Anna.

Memorials may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 2212 NW 50th St., Oklahoma City, OK 73112 or to All Saints Catholic School, 4001 36th Ave. NW, Norman, OK 73072.

Arrangements are under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home.
