Lena Mae Busick, of Norman, joined her heavenly Father on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at the age of 78 years.
Born in Denver,
Colorado, Lena was the daughter of the late Claude and Elizabeth
Adams. She took Ramon L. Busick’s hand in marriage on April 26,
1955, and they enjoyed nearly 60 years of marriage. Through the
years, she faithfully followed Ramon as he served our country in
the United States Air Force, living in various locations
including Delaware, Florida, Texas, California, as well as in
the Philippines. After serving 21 years in the Air Force, Ramon
retired to Norman, Oklahoma where he and Lena would call home.
Lena then began to work at the Goddard Health Center as a
dietician assistant where she would dedicate 22 years of
service, but her most cherished roles were a wife, mother,
grandmother, and great grandmother.
Lena was full of life and enjoyed traveling. She especially
enjoyed cruises and cruised all over the world with Ramon by her
side taking in the glory of the Roman ruins, ancient sites of
Troy, Hierapolis and Cappadocia, and savoring delicious European
cuisine. Lena had a passion for animals and spent many hours
with her dogs by her side at Lake Thunderbird feeding the ducks,
deer, cardinals, and squirrels. She was an avid bingo player
and known by friends and family as a “lucky” charm at the bingo
table. She had the heart of a humanitarian and spent countless
hours quilting, crafting, and making rosaries for prisons and
missions in Mexico and members of the Armed Services. When
asked to describe her in three words one would tell you she was
caring, generous, and loving. The seeds of her generosity,
faithfulness, and compassion spread through generations creating
beauty within in her family and those fortunate enough to call
her friend.
Lena is survived by her loving husband, Ramon L. Busick; her six
children, Arthur A. Busick and wife Marlyn, Michael D. Busick
and wife Ning, Linda M. Clinton, Patrick Busick and wife Janice,
Mark L. Busick and wife Vickie, and Steven P. Busick and wife
Mojgan; her sister Betty Adams, CSJ; thirteen grandchildren and
thirteen great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday, April
13, 2015 at Havenbrook Funeral Home with a Prayer Vigil to
follow at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m.
Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial
will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
