Agnes Ruth Barrett was born April 5, 1926 in Norman, OK to Fred
and Elizabeth Offenburger. She passed away at her home on
September 25th after a brief illness.
She graduated from St.
Anthony Nursing School in 1949 as a R.N. In 1953 she married
William H. Barrett. She retired from Griffin Hospital in 1985.
Agnes was a lifetime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of
Norman. After her retirement she enjoyed her time with friends
through her church activities and the local YMCA.
Agnes was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Elizabeth
Offenburger; brother, George Offenburger; and husband, Bill as
well as two infant daughters.
She is survived by her children,
Rick Barrett and wife Debbie, Tim Barrett and wife Candace;
three grandchildren, Kimberly Barrett, Matthew Pempin and wife
Kristi and Joseph Pempin and wife Amy; and three great
grandchildren, Maggie, Jacob and Jason Pempin.
Donations in memory of Agnes Ruth Barrett may be made to the
American Cancer Society, 2420 Springer Dr. #205, Norman, OK
73069 or the charity of your choice.
The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.,
Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at the Havenbrook Funeral Home,
3401 Havenbrook St. in Norman. Mass of Christian Burial will
begin at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, September 29, 2011 at the St.
Joseph Catholic Church, 211 N. Porter in Norman.
Burial will immediately follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
