William Morris , 61, died Sat. April 23, at Presbyterian Hospital. Bill, a longtime resident of OKC was born Jan. 20, 1922. Graduated from NE High School and the University of Okla where he played football. He was a Captain in the US Marine Corps and served in WWII and the Korean War.
Bill worked as an accountant at Kerr-McGee for 35 years and was an elder in the Faith Fellowship Church.
Bill was a loving husband to Virginia Morris, generous father to Jack Morris of Dallas, TX, Ron Morris, Denver, CO and Bonnie Morris Garcia of OKC; an adoring grandfather to Audra Morris and Shelba Garcia. Other living family members include his mother, Hattie Morris, 4 sisters, Helen Dale, Ruth Trotter, Louise Ward and Zelma Weems, a brother, Cleve Morris, daughter-in-law, Beth Bates Morris; son-in-law, David Garcia and many aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. Bill was a friendly, kind man who took great pleasure in work and practiced a deep abiding faith.
He was preceded in death by his father, William R. Morris, mother-in-law, Audra Stone, father-in-law, W. N. Stone, sister, Dorothy Johnston and granddaughter, Angel Garcia.
Funeral services will be Monday 2 PM at the Colonial Chapel, Vondel L Smith & Sons Mortuary with interment at Resthaven Cemetery.
