After 87 years of a life well lived, Paul Arthur Lewis, Sr passed away on Sept 22, 2019.
He was born on June 22, 1932, in Konawa, OK, to George and Bertha Lewis. After leaving high school in 1953 and joining the Air Force, Paul earned his GED in A & P mechanics. He traveled extensively over many different states and countries. Paul had just re-enlisted in the Airy Force when he married the love of his life, Margie Stumpf on February 17, 1957. Of this union came three children-Paul, Debbie, and Danny.
After 30 years working as a sheet metal supervisor at Downtown Air Park, Paul retired and enjoyed many years of farm life. He went every Saturday for 40 years to the sale barn where he would buy and sell cattle. Paul loved the farm and tending to his garden where he prided himself on his extensive vegetable garden and selling farm fresh eggs. He was lovingly known as the "candyman" because he loved to share his favorite candy, Werther's Original. Everyone knew when Paul was at church as there was always candy wrappers on the ground.
Over the course of the last 11 years, Paul made and sold wooden crosses at the Moore Farmers Market every Saturday.
Paul is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Bertha Lewis; one daughter, Debbie Basinger; two brothers, Leonard Lewis and Herman Lewis; one little sister, Verda, who passed away at the age of three; and an 18-month-old little brother named Nolan.
He is survived by his loving wife, Margie; two sons, Paul Lewis Jr. of Jones and Danny Lewis and wife Cyndi of OKC; grandchildren, Dakota Lewis, Chantal Lewis, Megan Oblander and husband Strider, Brett Lewis and wife Dallas, Bryan Lewis and wife Jessica, Bradley Basinger and wife Ashley, Collin Basinger and fiancée, Remington; great-grandchildren, Danielle, Arielle, Oaklyn, Joey, Brodie, and Brantley; one brother, Tommy Lewis and wife Mary; as well as many other family and friends who will miss him dearly.
