Patsy Standard Klingstedt passed away peacefully in Plano, Texas on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born at home on December 1, 1933 in Lawton, Oklahoma. She attended Classen High School in Oklahoma City and went on to Oklahoma A & M, now Oklahoma State University where she met and married her soulmate and the love of her life, John Paul Klingstedt. After graduating with a degree in business, Patsy moved with John and their infant daughter to Dallas, Texas. There she raised three children, was very active in the Dallas Garden Club, and helped to establish La Prada Presbyterian Church. Relocating to Norman, Oklahoma in 1969, she became active in the 1st Presbyterian Church and served as a deacon. She received a Master’s in Business Education from the University of Oklahoma and taught business communication at OU. Patsy enjoyed writing, gourmet club, traveling, serving her church and community and being with family and friends. She was active in University Women and the Central Oklahoma Romance Writer Association and served as President of both. Patsy’s strong faith in God and the promise of everlasting peace, love and life sustained her throughout her life. Even when her memory failed she remembered the words to hymns and loved to sing them with exuberant joy. Patsy accomplished many things in her life, but the most lasting achievement is that she is loved and cherished by her family.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband John and her parents Floyd & Lila Standard.

Survived by her three children, Janet Collinsworth and her husband BJ, daughter Linda Sloan and John Paul Klingstedt, Jr and his wife Libby, six grandchildren, Chris Collinsworth, Liz Collinsworth Terry, Candace Sloan Freudenrich, Matthew, Luke and Katie Klingstedt, and five great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Patsy’s life will be held at the 1st Presbyterian Church of Norman on Saturday, June 24 with a viewing at 10 am and services at 11 am followed by burial at Resthaven Gardens Cemetery in Oklahoma City.
