Delia Ann (Wright) Jones, age 69, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, died April 16, 2019, at United Regional Hospital in Wichita Falls, Texas. She was born March 12, 1950, in Sayre, Oklahoma, to Van B. and Elsie Wright.
Her father’s career as a school superintendent, educator and coach took them to various places in western Oklahoma, Berlin, Reed, Greenfield, Cheyenne, and settled in Moore. Her father went to work for the Oklahoma Department of Education. As a senior at Moore High School, she was the annual Homecoming Basketball Queen. She graduated from Moore High School in 1968. She went to work at Southwestern Bell in 1969 and after 30 years, retired as a Network Detail Engineer.
In 1988, Delia married Hugh Jones, who was active duty in the United States Marine Corps, and started a family giving birth to Holly Alise in 1989 and Deanna Ashley in 1990.
At the loss of precious Deanna Ashley, Delia was a founding member of the group Oklahoma SIDS.
Throughout her adult life she gave donations to diabetes and military organizations. She was a huge OU fan especially of football, softball and basketball. Delia was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and wonderful friend to many people. She was preceded in death by her mother, Elsie Wright, daughter, Deanna Ashley, father, Van B Wright, and brother, Van D Wright.
She is survived by husband, Hugh, son Daniel, daughter, Holly, grandson, Bralyn William, and granddaughter, Georgia Annalise.
Funeral services will be at Central Church of Christ, 800 E Main St, Moore, OK, at 2:00pm, on Saturday, April 20. Visitation will be at Resthaven Funeral Home, 500 SW 104th, Oklahoma City, on Friday, April 19, from 1:00 to 8:00 pm, with family receiving friends from 6-8pm. Burial will be at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
