Joe Dale Jackson passed from this life August 20, 2020 at the age of 74. He was born November 11, 1945 in Oklahoma City to Irven and Gloria Jackson (Haney).
Joe attended Southeast High School in Oklahoma City. He went on to work at City Auto Parts as a parts runner, later going to S&W Power Systems to work as a mechanic, and eventually as a shop manager working in diesel engine rebuilding. Joe successfully started his own business in 1976, J&R International Power. The business is still in operation today and has remained successful over the years.
Joe married the love of his life, Rita Kennedy, on August 18, 1964. They were blessed with 56 years of a wonderful marriage, celebrating their anniversary two days prior to Joe's passing. Together they have enjoyed antique shopping, watching John Wayne movies, and cheering on OU Women's Basketball. Joe had a passion for working on racecars and at one point had his own racing team at the State Fairgrounds Speedway. In addition, he liked antiques of all kinds, but especially loved working on and rebuilding vintage Schwinn bicycles.
Joe was preceded in passing by his parents, Irven and Gloria Jackson; and brother, Jackie Jackson.
Those left to continue his legacy include his loving wife of 56 years, Rita Jackson; sons, Todd Jackson and wife Rose, Corey Jackson, and Jason Jackson and wife Holly; daughter, Jennifer Howell and husband Shevrin; grandchildren, Justin Jackson and wife Ashely, Shaina Wooster and Garrett Morgan, Grant Jackson, Sutton Demuth, Brody Demuth, Savannah Howell, and Hadley Howell; great-grandchildren, Gracie Jackson, Audrey Jackson, and Madilynn Jackson; and sister, Michelle Bulen and husband Michael.
