Barbara Jean (Reynolds) Herriage, age 83, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, August 20, 2019. Barbara was born in Waxahachie, Texas to Sarah Commons and Wayne Reynolds.
She met the love of her life, Bill Herriage, and was married on March, 11, 1955. To this union they were blessed with two daughters, Beverly & Cynthia. She was a devoted wife and stay-at-home Mom for many years. During this timeframe, she enjoyed sewing all her girls’ clothes and even their curtains and beautiful bedspreads along with gardening, being a Girl Scout Leader, Sunday School Teacher, Vacation Bible School teacher, Homeroom Mother, baking pies, cookies and cakes. One of her favorite things was being a wife and mother.
After her children were older, she joined the workforce in various part-time jobs and then went to work for Great Plains Coca-Cola for 20 years retiring in 1996 as Payroll Administrator.
She was very active in church and a member of the Joy Class and loved singing in the Jubilee Choir until health became an issue.
The light of her life was spending time with kids, grandkids and great-grandkids who she loved each one dearly. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Herriage (2004). Barbara is survived by her two daughters; Beverly Anderson and husband Vic of Moore and Cynthia Fischer and husband Max of Mustang; six grandchildren Matt Anderson and wife Heather of OKC, Jeff Anderson, Dallas TX, Amy Perkins and husband Stephen of Mustang, Rachel Fischer of Mustang, Steven Fischer and wife Raina of Mustang, Michael Fischer of Mustang and 12 great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 26, 2019 at Southern Hills Baptist Church, OKC, with interment to follow at Resthaven Cemetery OKC.
