Sandy (Rizzo) Derr, 88, passed away Thursday, July 27, 2006 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was born November 1, 1917 in Coalton, Oklahoma to Frank and Annie (Olandese) Rizzo.
Sandy was a very hard working lady. She worked at Beverly's Restaurant for several years and Continental Bakery for five years. After retiring she enjoyed square dancing and being a homemaker. She was very strong with strong ways and very open hearted. She had a full life with lots of quality and love from all and to all. Sandy is now resting beautifully and is in peace.
Sandy is survived by sisters, Joanna (Jennie) Rosano and Mary Lowery; brothers, Sarafino (Feno) Rizzo and wife Kathryn and Frankie Rizzo and wife Marjorie; sons-in-law, Ralph Baker and Jerry Sipes; stepdaughter, Sue Ann Derr; six grandchildren, Johnny Stevens, Tony Stevens, Sherri Boyd, Kelly Hall, Steve Baker and Shawn Baker; 11 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Flippa Olandese, Rosie Odorifero, and Christina Maisano; her spouse, Ralph E. Derr; and her daughters, Shanah C. Baker and Nona J. Sipes.
Memorials may be made to the Oklahoma Youth Center, 320 Twelfth Ave. NE, Norman, OK 73071.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, August 1, 2006 in the Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel with interment following in Resthaven Memory Gardens.
