Joyce Lynn Boyd, 68 years young passed away peacefully in her home on June 30. Joyce was born on October 21, 1951 in Seminole, OK to Leon Shirley Cook and Yvonne Orene Dunham.

Joyce, a loving wife and mother, began her family June 30, 1979 when she married Frank Boyd, and together had three wonderful children; Lee, Russell and Jacquelyn who all reside in OKC. She shared her home with her much-loved dog Jackson.

Joyce started her career as a home economist within the OSU Extension offices in Ada and Norman. She earned her Bachelor's of Science degree in Home Economics from OSU in 1973 and her Masters degree in Early Childhood Development from UCO in 1989. At OSU, she served as President of Delta Zeta Sorority. Joyce was a Den Leader in Cub Scouts, Girl Scout Leader and taught children's Sunday school at her church. She was a wonderful teacher to many kindergartners and pre-schoolers throughout the Oklahoma City Public Schools; Hillcrest, Coolidge and Southern Hills Elementary. Her favorite hobbies included sewing projects along with gardening, canning and preserving the abundance of fresh foods from their garden.

She is preceded in death by both of her parents and sister, Janice Talbot. She is survived by her husband Frank; son Lee and wife Holly; son Russell; daughter Jacquelyn and husband Mason MacIntosh; sister Barbara Cook; nephews Preston Talbott and John Haney IV and nieces Ashley Stark and Jessee Haney.

Please join us in celebrating Joyce's life at 2pm on Tuesday, July 7 at Resthaven Chapel, 104th and S. Walker. Virtual services will be made available. Graveside services will follow. Family Visitation will be held on Monday, July 6 from 1 to 6, at Resthaven Funeral Home.
