She was born August 25, 1918 in Dill, Oklahoma, a
twin to brother, Jessie Earl “Buddy” Guthrie who preceded her in death
in 1999, to Robert and Mollie (Kitchens) Guthrie. She was united in
marriage on May 18, 1946 to Charles Haskell “Hack” Alexander.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her infant

Meryle G. “Cricket”, 93, passed away Saturday, December 24, 2011 in
Norman, Oklahoma.
Meryle graduated from Burns Flat High School where she played on the
basketball team and won several trophies for archery. She attended
Southwestern State College, taught English in the Public School System
and worked at the University of Oklahoma from the mid 1960's until her
retirement in 1984. Her hobbies included playing bridge, watching
sports (especially OU Sooner basketball and football) and playing the
harmonica and singing.
Meryle is survived by one daughter, Pamela Alexander, and husband Bruce
Levick of Oakton, Virginia; one son, Charles Alexander, and wife Cynthia
Miller of Tucson, AZ; two granddaughters, Kate and Nora Alexander of
Tucson, AZ; and one step grandchild, Daniel Levick of Oakton, Virginia.
Visitation will be held 10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 28,
2011 and 9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m., Thursday, December 29, 2011 at
Havenbrook Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the
American Heart Association, 5700 N. Portland Ave. #203, OKC, OK 73112.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 30, 2011 in
the Chapel of the Havenbrook Funeral Home with
interment following in Resthaven
Memory Gardens.
