Douglas J. Wilson, 89, of Norman
passed away Saturday, December 26, 2015. He was born July 31, 1926 in
Whitesboro, Oklahoma to Leslie and Ollie Wilson.
Douglas grew up in San Francisco and returned to Whitesboro in 1944 where he met
and married Joy Ann Johnson.
December 26, 2015 was the date of both his death and their 71st Anniversary.
Douglas served in the military during World War II. Douglas was retired from
Dowell in Great Bend, Kansas.
He had lived in Norman for the last 26 years, where he was a member of Bethel
Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and son Billy. Douglas is survived by
his wife, Joy; and his sons and their wives, John and Carol Wilson of Oklahoma
City, Daniel and Susan Wilson of Saudi Arabia; granddaughter, Serena Watson of
Oklahoma City, grandson and wife, Derek and Patrice Wilson of Houston; great
grandson, Cash Watson; and his brother, Hobert H. Wilson.
Funeral Services will begin at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at the
Havenbrook Funeral Chapel with interment following at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in
Norman.
Memorials may be made in lieu of flowers in memory of Douglas Wilson to Bethel
Baptist Church, 1717 W. Lindsey St., Norman.
Arrangements for Douglas and his family were placed in the care of Havenbrook
