Billy Bob Warren, "Bill" 85, peacefully left this earth Friday evening, February 5, 2016 from his home in Norman, Oklahoma. He had been ill for quite some time yet fought the valiant fight. He suffers no more.

Bill was born August 17, 1930 to Grace and Grover Warren. He was born and raised in Waurika, Oklahoma with his two siblings, brother Jerry and sister Rene. The family later moved to Norman so they could attend the University of Oklahoma. While attending OU, Bill was a member of the Delta Upsilon fraternity and later proudly joined the Army, serving in Korea, which later earned him a Bronze Service Medal. Shortly thereafter, while in Norman, Bill met the love of his life Barbara June and the two were married April 26, 1957.

Bill worked in the oil business for many years primarily as a wireline technician and later owned his own oil pumping service Warren Operating Company. After retiring and later losing his wife Barbara, he took a job with local area dealerships delivering cars across the country. Bill was also known in the neighborhood for his long walks, especially with his toy poodle Coco, whom he'd carry.

For the past few years his favorite activity was watching Fox News and keeping an eye on the stocks, especially after the closing bell. If you knew him well, you knew better than to ever discuss politics with him.

Bill was survived by his son, Barry and daughter-in-law Teresa Warren of Norman; grandchildren David, Michael Taber, Sarah, Melanie and Geoff McDermid, and Jennifer Lindsay; great grandchildren Claudia Taber, Daylin Smith, Zach and Emily McDermid and Brianna, Ashley and Austin Loveless.

Bill is also survived by his lovely sister Rene, who turns 95 later this month and his sister-in-law Betty Catlin, of Seattle Washington. He is also survived by niece Kimberly and nephew Tom and nieces Linda and Kathy.

Bill is preceded in death by his loving wife Barbara, brother Jerry, and daughter Bridget Couch.

The family would like to give a special thanks to his housekeeper Christina and her sister who were a ray of sunshine when his days were gray, to his nurse Angy, who kept him in line and took wonderful care of him, nurse Wanda and Life Spring Hospice Care. You made his last days happy and for that we will ever be so grateful!!!

Graveside services will be 2:00pm Thursday, February 11, 2016 at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Norman, Oklahoma.

Visitation will be 12:00-8:00pm Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at Havenbrook Funeral Home in Norman, Oklahoma.
