Bill G. Tadlock, 86, of Norman, Oklahoma passed away March 6, 2013. Bill was born October 24, 1926 to Bennett and Emma (Williams) Tadlock in Bokchito, Oklahoma.

He left high school to serve his country in the Pacific Theater during WWII. He became a platoon leader in the United States Army and was on Okinawa when we bombed Japan and the war ended. He returned to Norman where he finished High School. Bill then met and married his wife, Jerry Anne Claxton with whom he shared 50 wonderful years raising two sons, Phillip and Mark. He began his career in the retail grocery business and after 37 years retired in 1984. Bill spent quality time with his son, Mark, traveling the country and working on various jobs together. Bill could not sit still after retirement, so he took a job at the University of Oklahoma where he worked for 10 years in the microbiology lab. On August 28, 2005 in Norman, Bill remarried Beverly Spears. Bill twice served as the Sooner Lion’s Club President and was instrumental in the success of the concessions at the OU football games. Bill loved spending time with his family. Bill was known as being kind and nice to everyone he came in contact with. Even during his illness Bill’s family remembers him never complaining. He never wanted to “put anyone out.”

Bill is survived by his wife, Beverly Tadlock; son, Mark Tadlock of Norman; three step daughters, Gwen Gough and Don of Moore, Oklahoma, Patsy Farrar of Norman, and Becky Heeney and Neil of Norman; brother, J.B. Tadlock of Norman; sister, Francille DeBerry of Norman; three grandchildren, Chloe Tadlock, Tyler Tadlock, and Jake Tadlock; and six step grandchildren, Jake Gough and Dawn, Emily Pitchford and Drew, Melissa Marsh, Tiffany Kerley and Jordan, Christain Heeney, and Braden Heeney; and a host of other nieces and nephews, family and friends.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; former wife, Jerry Anne (Claxton) Tadlock; one son, Phillip Tadlock; brother, Hershel Tadlock; two sisters, JoAnn Lynn and Inez Bowman; and one daughter-in-law, Marcia Lynne Tadlock.

Services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, March 8, 2013 in the First Baptist Church 211 E. Commanche, Norman with interment at Norman I.O.O.F Cemetery.

Arrangements for Bill Tadlock and his family were placed in the care of the Vice family of Havenbrook Funeral Home in Norman.
