Dennis A.
Strickland passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 29, 2013 and went home to be
with the Lord. Dennis was born on May 5, 1949 in Oklahoma City to Julius and
Dorothy (Freeman) Strickland.
Dennis was preceded in death by his infant son, James, and his father, Julius.
On January 9, 1972, Dennis married the love of his life, Nancy Brown. Dennis is
survived by Nancy, daughter Jennifer Crabb and husband Jed, son Brent Strickland
and daughter Natalie Strickland; his beloved grandchildren, Blake Strickland,
Aubrey Strickland and Madison Crabb; mother Dorothy Strickland and brother David
Strickland.
Dennis worked for many years as an engineer in the oil field. Dennis was a
faithful member of University Christian Church for twenty-two years. Dennis was
an avid Sooner football fan and enjoyed shooting, golf and fishing.
Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, August 1 at Havenbrook Funeral
Home.
Services to celebrate Dennis's life will be 2:00 PM on Friday, August 2, 2013 at
University Christian Church, 616 Bud Wilkinson Dr., Norman.
Interment will follow at Primrose
Cemetery in Norman.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Wounded
Warrior Project.
Arrangements for Dennis and his family were placed in the care of the Vice
family at the Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman. Online condolences may be
