Shobert, Susan L., 69, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away Monday, July 30, 2012 in Norman, Oklahoma.
She was born July 24, 1943 in Shawnee, Oklahoma
to George and Ruby (Minnick) Long. Susan received her GED and was a dietician
for Griffin Memorial Hospital retiring after 23 years. She was currently
employed at Madison Elmentary as a custodian. She loved to crochet and read her
Bible. Susan's church family and her children and grandchildren were very
important to her and she loved spending time with each one of them.
Susan is survived by five daughters, Kowunna Leavitt and husband Steve, Twylia
Capshaw and husband Terry, Debra Cox and Steve Baca, Cheryl McCain and Kristy
Fraeder and husband Bob; twelve grandchildren; seven great grandchildren;
numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends; best friend, Barbara Tiller; and
her special best friends, Rascal, Diamond, and Bits.
She is preceded in death
by her parents; and her husband, Gerald Shobert.
Visitation will be held 10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m., Thursday, August 2, 2012 in the
Havenbrook Funeral Home with the family greeting friends from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00
p.m.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 3, 2012 in the Chapel
of the Havenbrook Funeral Home with interment following in the
I.O.O.F. Cemetery of Norman. Arrangements for Susan and her family were
placed in the care of the Vice Family at the Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman.
