Ora Laone
Ryan, 101, passed away Friday, January 27, 2012 in Norman, Oklahoma.
She was born April 29, 1910 in Prentiss, Oklahoma to Albert and Mary (Hungate)
Fuchs.
Ora was united in marriage to Robert Ocie Ryan in Guthrie, OK in 1934.
Ora received her Registered Nursing degree in 1934 and was in the
healthcare profession for over 10 years. Ora enjoyed traveling,
gardening and sewing clothes for her children and grandchildren. She
loved entertaining her family with picnics, trips to the park, cooking
for them during the holidays and taking the grandchildren to VBS with a
trip to McDonalds afterwards. Ora was an accomplished pianist and
seamstress.
Ora is survived by one son, Dr. William “Bill” Ryan and wife Sandy of
Sparks, Nevada; one daughter, Bettye Roberts of Norman; grandchildren,
Sam Ryan and wife Kim, Lee Ryan, Monte Joe Brown, Robert Ryan II and
wife Traci, Chris Ryan and Steven Ryan; eleven great grandchildren,
Eliya, Alex, Hunter, Laini, Jessica, Katie, Blake, Connor, Caitlyn,
Killian, Austen; and two great-great grandchildren, Dakoda, Sydni Ann
and one on the way.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her
husband, Robert Ocie Ryan; sons, Robert Joe Ryan and David Leland Ryan;
three brothers, Yoland Fuchs, Evan Fuchs and Gilbert Fuchs; and two
sisters, Ima Clevenger and Mabel Colby.
Visitation will be held 3:00 – 8:00 p.m., Sunday, January 29, 2012 at
Havenbrook Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 30, 2012 at
Alameda Baptist Church, 1503 Alameda St. with interment following in the
I.O.O.F. Cemetery of Norman. Arrangements for Ora and her family
were placed in the care of the Vice Family at Havenbrook Funeral Home of
Norman.
