Jimmy Phillip Ridenour age 82, of Purcell, Oklahoma passed away peacefully at his home Monday, October 9, 2017.
He was born September 15, 1935 in Norman, Oklahoma. Jimmy was the 6th of 10 children born to William Albert Ridenour and Bertha Lee (Davis) Ridenour. He attended Norman schools and at the age of 16, joined the U. S. Army Reserves. He later transferred to the U. S. Army on March 19, 1954, and served one year and four months in Korea. He was promoted to Corporal before being honorably discharged on June 20, 1956. Jimmy married the love of his life, Helen Johnson on October 28, 1961, in Weleeka, Oklahoma. It’s hard to say Jimmy without saying, Jimmy and Helen. During his working years, they lived in the Ft. Cobb area where together they raised three children. For 31 years Jimmy worked for (PSO) Public Service Company of Oklahoma near Ft. Cobb. After retiring they moved to Purcell in 2004. Jimmy was a devoted family man. He loved watching his children and later his grandchildren play sports. He was their greatest fan. After retiring, Jimmy and Helen enjoyed traveling, spending time with family and watching their two favorite football teams, the O. U. Sooners and the Dallas Cowboys. In his spare time Jimmy also enjoyed tinkering around the home and working on anything mechanical. He will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.

preceded in death by: Five siblings, Anita, Eugene, Art, Betty and Charles
Ray;
He is survived by: Wife of 56 years, Helen Ridenour; Three children and
their spouses, Kevin and Stacie Ridenour, Kellie Leann and Steve Paxton,
Kyle and Kelly Ridenour; He was blessed with nine grandchildren: Jennifer
Williams and husband Scott, Kolby Paxton and wife Katie, Jeremy Paxton and
wife Brittany, Samantha Ridenour, Zachary Paxton and fiancé Meghan Anderson,
Ashleigh Ridenour, Ethan Ridenour, Reese Ridenour and Charlie Ann Ridenour;
Also six great grandchildren: McKenna, Blake, Mason and Mila Williams,
Preston and Lincoln Paxton; Four siblings: Charlotte Savage, June Wilson and
husband Chuck, Dan Ridenour And Gloria Manios and husband Louis; Also many
nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Graveside funeral services will be 11:30 A.M., Friday, October 13, 2017 at Norman I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Norman, OK. Arrangements are by Wilson-Little Funeral Home, Purcell, OK.
