Wanda Grace Reed went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, January12, 2013, after a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s disease.
Wanda was born in Dow, Oklahoma, on
February 19, 1931, to Alvin and Ethel Pigg. She was raised
in Dow and graduated from Haileyville High School in 1949.
On April 6, 1950, she married Leon “Doc” Reed.
Wanda moved with her family to Norman to finish her degree
in education at OU in 1956. She taught 5th graders at
Jackson and Cleveland Elementary Schools in Norman.
After retirement, she spent much of her time traveling,
painting, playing tennis, line dancing, and enjoying her
family.
Wanda is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years,
Doc Reed; two daughters: Rita Henry and husband Jim of
Moore, OK, and Lori Roberts of Mount Pleasant, SC; five
grandchildren: Chad Henry, Craig Henry, Ayre Wilson, Brandt
Wilson, and Heather Roberts; and five great grandchildren:
Allie, Michael, Maddie, Isaiah and Wyatt Henry.
Wanda is also survived by her sister, Mary Lee
Wilkerson, brother, Bob Pigg and wife Mona, brother Clyde
Pigg and wife Joanne, brother-in-law, Jess McCloud;
sisters-in-law, Gwen Reed and Edna Reed, along with numerous
nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her
brother and sisters: Thelma Powell, Lorene Gunter, James
Paul Pigg and Betty McCloud.
Private family services will be held Wednesday
morning, January 16th, at Havenbrook Funeral Chapel.
Wanda was a member of First Baptist Church of Norman. Memorial contributions may be made to the Norman First Baptist Church Family Life Center, or the charity of your choice. Arrangements are under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home.

Leon Reed, 91, of Norman, OK passed away Friday, July 21, 2017.
Leon was born on June 13, 1926, in Haileyville, OK, to Ras and Bessie Reed. Leon graduated from Haileyville High School and went into the U.S. Navy where he served his country. After High School graduation he obtained his Bachelors from Southeastern University in Durant and his Masters in Industrial Engineering and Industrial Education from the University of Oklahoma. Leon married his love, Wanda Grace on April 6, 1950, in Shawnee, OK. Leon taught school in the Norman Public School System and was a former Principal in Eagletown, OK. He retired after 32 years in the Norman Public Schools. After retirement, Leon and Wanda loved traveling together. Leon also loved making knives and wood working (which allowed him to build two homes) and hunting with his brothers.
Leon was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Wanda, five brothers and one sister.
He is survived by two daughters: Rita Henry and husband, James, of Moore, OK and Lori Roberts of Mount Pleasant, SC; Five Grandchildren: Chad Henry, Craig Henry, Ayre Wilson, Brandt Wilson and Heather Roberts; six great grandchildren: Allie Henry, Michael Henry, Maddie Henry, Isaiah Henry, Wyatt Henry and Wade Henry; Brother-in-Law’s, Clyde Pigg and Bob Pigg, one Sister-in-Law, Mary Lee Wilkerson and many other nieces, nephews and other family members.
Services have been placed in the care of Havenbrook Funeral Home. We will celebrate and honor Leon on Tuesday, July 25, 2017, 11:00 am at Havenbrook Funeral Home.
