Betty Imogene Ragsdale Ramay , 81, departed this life Thursday, July 28, 2011, in Norman.        

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 1, at First Christian Church of Norman with Reverend Catherine Bennett and Reverend Gary Hardwick officiating.

Imogene was born to Calvin and Laano (George) Ragsdale on November 24, 1929 in Little Axe. She was the youngest of five children. She graduated from Norman High School in 1947 and then went on to graduate from Hill's Business College. On August 3, 1951, she married Bob Ramay . They were married for 46 years, living in Germany while Bob served in the military and returning to Norman in 1954. They worked together in the restaurant business, owning, among others, the Driftwood Inn at Tenkiller Lake for many years and then coming back to Norman to open Ramay 's Frontier Restaurant on east Alameda. After retiring from the restaurant business, they continued to participate in social and philanthropic groups until Bob's death on March 3, 1997.

Imogene loved life and loved to be with her many friends over the years and was constantly on the go. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Norman. Among many organizations, she was a member of Norman Business and Professional Women, Norman Regional Hospital Auxiliary, the "14th Club" from Norman High's 1947 graduating class, and was often a welcome visitor at "Golden Agers" at St. Joseph's Catholic Church.

Imogene was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bob, sister Geraldine Ragsdale Jones, and brothers Edmond Ragsdale and Troy Ragsdale.

Imogene is survived by her son, Rusty Ramay of Wetumka; brother, Chester Ragsdale of Norman; sister-in-law, Mary Ragsdale of Norman; nieces, Delores Hatch of Edmond; Karla Campbell of Norman; Anne Bogard of Dallas; Karen French of Dallas; and Terry Sayles of Irving, Texas; one nephew, Randy Ragsdale of Oklahoma City, and many very close friends.

Visitation was held 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, July 30, 2011 with the family greeting friends from 6 to 8 p.m. and 1 to 8 p.m. today at Havenbrook Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to St. Judes Children's Hospital, Attention Memorial Dept, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105.

Interment will be in IOOF Cemetery, Norman.
