Pratt, Florence
Lorene, 91, a longtime Norman resident, passed away Tuesday, August 7, 2012 in
Purcell, Oklahoma. She was born August 3, 1921 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to W.
E. and Matilda May (Garvin) Thompson. She was united in marriage in Purcell,
Oklahoma on February 9, 1961 to Raymond Pratt.
Florence loved flowers and was known for immaculate gardens. She also received
Yard of the Month twice in her neighborhood. She enjoyed family gatherings,
reunions, and traveling to all parts of the world. She also enjoyed dancing
with her friends and reading. Florence was an exceptional seamstress and loved
to quilt and embroider.
Florence is survived by her son, Darrell Pratt and wife Barbara of Lexington,
OK; daughter, Carol Sue VanWinkle and husband Dean of Shawnee; sister, Lena
Farris of Woodward, Oklahoma; eleven grandchildren; five great grandchildren;
and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her
husband, Raymond Pratt; one son, Calvin Payne; two daughters, Oneta (Payne)
Melbee and Janice (Payne) Sturgis; and twelve brothers and sisters.
Visitation will begin 2:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Saturday, August 11, 2012 and 1:00
p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Sunday, August 12, 2012 at Havenbrook Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 13, 2012 in the Chapel
of the Havenbrook Funeral Home with interment following in the
I.O.O.F. Cemetery of
Norman. Arrangements for
Florence and her family were placed in the care of the Vice family at the
Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman.
