Powell, Bueford, passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2011 in Norman with his family by his side.
Bueford's life began in Paoli, OK on November 5, 1917 born to Lushen Powell and
Ida Humphrey. The family moved to Kenna, New Mexico to be near other family.
They moved back to Norman in 1924 where he attended Wilson Schools. He went in
the Army at Ft. Sill. He met and married Diamond Marie Sullivan in 1937 and
together they had four children, two boys and two girls.
Bueford worked at Tinker Air Force as a fireman and for Air Engineers. In 1954
he moved to Norwalk, CA where he worked for Brunswick Co. for 35 years. Diamond
passed away in 1983 and Bueford married Louise Powell in 1984 in Lufkin, Texas.
He loved watching trains and planes. Bueford was a wonderful man and will be
missed by all that knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lushen Powell and Ida Humphrey;
stepmother, Aline Powell; his first wife, Diamond; brothers, Elmer Powell, Joe
Powell; sons, Bueford, Jr. and Phil; and daughter, Barbara Ann.
He is survived
by his wife, Louise Powell of the home; daughter, Judy Kay Wetzel of Norwalk,
CA; two stepsons, Danny Lynn Powell of Colorado and Clarence Austin Powell of
Norman; three brothers, Marshel Powell of Torrance, CA, Robert Powell of CA and
Richard Powell of Las Vegas, NV; four grandsons, Shaun, Jeff, Dustin and Garet
of CA; two great grandchildren; six step grandchildren; eight step great
grandchildren; and many relatives and great friends that he loved.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 21, 2011 in the Chapel
of the Havenbrook Funeral Home with
interment following in the Norman I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Danny Lynn Powell, Clarence Austin Powell, Dustin Lance Powell, Jeff Wetzel, Darin Raines and Jackie Miller. Honorary Pallbearers are Garett Powell, Shawn Powell and Dustin Lee Powell.
