Jack Parker was a retired "schoolteacher" as he would say, having taught in Oklahoma schools for a number of years, the last 11 years of which were spent at the University of Oklahoma in the College of Education.
Jack and his wife, Emily, enjoyed many travels in their motor home, including going to the Rio Grande valley every year as "winter Texans." A few years after losing his wife, Jack chose to move into a life care community called John Knox Village in Weslaco, Texas. He served on the Board of Directors at John Knox for the first few years he lived there. He played jazz trumpet in younger years and enjoyed listening to jazz and big band music, walking with his dog, Domino, while he was still able, reading, and visits from family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Emily, and is survived by his children, Karen Lockwood, Steve and Sue Parker, and Alan and Janet Parker, his grandchildren, Kristen and David Adams, and Justin and Lyndsi Lockwood, and great- grandchildren, Addyson Lockwood, and Theodore Adams.
