"Kelly" McElhaney, Norman, OK, 54, departed this life on Monday, April
22, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family.
The Rosary Service will be held at 5:30 p.m. followed by the Wake
Service beginning at 6:00p.m., Monday, April 29, 2013 at St. Thomas More
Catholic Church, 100 E. Stinson, Norman, OK.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 30,
2013 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Norman, OK.
The McElhaney family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on
Sunday, April 28, 2013 at the Havenbrook Funeral Home, 3401 Havenbrook
St. in Norman, OK. Visitation will also be held from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00
p.m. on Monday, April 29, 2013 at Havenbrook Funeral Home.
Kelly was born January 30, 1959 in Norman, OK to parents J.D. and
Jeannie (O’Neal) McElhaney. After graduation from Norman High School in
1977 he attend the University of Oklahoma and earned Bachelor of Science
degrees in Petroleum Engineering (1982) and Computer Science Engineering
(1984). Kelly was most recently employed by Devon Energy, Corp., and had
worked in the oil industry for over 25 years.
During his time at OU he was a member of the Pride of Oklahoma Marching
Band, and a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity. Kelly’s love for OU was
truly life long and he had been a football season ticket holder since he
was 13 years old. He also enjoyed golfing and attending Oklahoma City
Thunder games.
Though he had a deep love for sports, there was no question that his
deepest passion was for his family. He loved traveling and taking his
family on vacations. He particularly enjoyed their trips to England and
Ireland to visit Cindy's family. Whatever his children’s interests were
he was always involved to help them succeed whether it was helping with
school work or coaching athletic teams. Kelly was also very active in
his parish and in the Knights of Columbus at St. Thomas More.
Kelly is survived by his wife, Cindy; his dear children, Katie and
Eamonn McElhaney, Norman; his siblings: Gary McElhaney and wife Julie of
Victoria, TX; David McElhaney and wife Lorie of Katy, TX; and Lori
McElhaney and husband Dave Kurjiaka of Hudsonville, MI; nephews and
niece, Jacob, Kevin, and Kendall McElhaney; his aunts, Pat McElhaney of
Norman, OK, and Jeanie O’Neal of Fresno, CA; as well as many loving
cousins and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother David Gene.
Memorial donations in Kelly’s memory may be made to the St. Vincent de
Paul Society of St. Thomas More, 100 E. Stinson, Norman, OK 73072 or the

Burial services will follow
Tuesday’s Mass at IOOF Cemetery in Norman, OK. Arrangements for
Mr. McElhaney and his family were placed in the care of the Vice family
at the Havenbrook Funeral Home in Norman.

Cynthia “Cindy”
O’Brien of Norman, OK, 55, departed this life on Thursday, September 8, 2016 at
her home surrounded by her family after a battle with pancreatic cancer.
A Rosary Service will be held Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at 5:30 p.m.,
followed by the Wake Service beginning at 6:00 p.m., at St. Thomas More Catholic
Church, 100 E. Stinson, Norman, OK.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 15,
2016 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Norman, OK.
Cindy was born May 8, 1961 in Norman, OK to her parents Edward J. & Patsy R.
(Moore) O’Brien. Cindy graduated from Norman High School in 1979. She attended
the University of Oklahoma and earned Bachelor of Arts in Journalism (1984) and
earned a Bachelor of Arts from Newman University in Pastoral Ministry (2003).
During her time at OU she was a member of the Pride of Oklahoma Marching Band,
where she met her husband, Kelly McElhaney. She enjoyed going to and watching OU
and Thunder games with her family. As a first generation American on her
father’s side, she loved her Irish roots. Her faith was a central foundation in
her life and her greatest joys were her children, family & friends.
She loved traveling with her husband and children to visit her family and was
just as happy curled up watching Disney movies at home. She was an Altar server
and catechist at St. Thomas More. She volunteered at Kairos Torch Prison
Ministry-Youth Program. In recent years, she attended and volunteered at Our
Lady of Lebanon.
Cindy is survived by her dear children, Katie and Eamonn McElhaney of the home;
as well as Uncles, Aunts and Cousins across the pond; In-Laws: Lori McElhaney
and husband Dave Kurjiaka of Hudsonville, MI; David McElhaney and wife Lorie of
Sante Fe, NM; and Gary McElhaney and wife Julie of Victoria, TX; as well as many
loving friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Kelly McElhaney and her parents, Edward
J. & Patsy R. O’Brien.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Cindy’s memory may be made to the ASCS
Scholarship Assistance or St. Vincent de Paul Society of St. Thomas More, 100
Stinson, Norman, OK 73072.
Burial services will follow Thursday’s Mass at IOOF Cemetery in Norman, OK.
