Funeral services
for Ida Mae Masters Cravey, age 89, of Norman will be held at 2:00 P.M.
Thursday, November 11, 2010 at Havenbrook Funeral Home Chapel, 3401 Havenbrook
Street, Norman, OK with Reverend James Erlich of Bethel Baptist Church
officiating. Ida passed away Thursday, November 4, 2010, at Norman Regional
Hospital.
Ida was born in Moore, Oklahoma July 30, 1921, one of seven children of Mary and
Holbert Berry. She was a graduate of Moore High School. During WWII she worked
at Tinker Air Force Base as a “Rivet Girl” installing electronics on airplanes
and after the war as an employee at the Cleveland County court house.
In October 1950, Ida married Ira Kay “Jack” Masters. Together they were Texaco
dealers for many years, first at Masters Home and Auto Store and Texaco station
on West Main Street across from Norman High School and later at 2132 West Main
Street. They were active members of First Baptist Church.
After retiring, Ida enjoyed traveling the world, spending time with her
grandchildren and playing word puzzles and games. She was considered to be a
“social bug” by her family and friends. Ida's outgoing personality lead her to
be very active in the Norman community and volunteering with the Red Cross. She
was a long time member of the Eastern Star and was the founding member and
President of TOPS. She had a sweet-tooth and always seemed to have candy in her
purse to share with friends and strangers who became friends.
Ida was preceded in death by first husband Jack Masters in 1988; her parents;
brothers, Hulbert Berry, Leonard “Buck” Berry and Jay P. Berry; sisters, Juanita
Wood, Lena Wood, Dora Finchum and Lydia Heiliger; son-in-law, James Otis Smith;
grandchildren, James Randall Smith, Traci Smith, Michael Corbly and one
great-grandchild, Kelly Marie Corbly.
Ida was married to Troy Cravey for a period of time. They were members of
Bethel Baptist Church where Ida continued to serve others.
She is survived by daughters, Sherrie Kay Culbertson and husband Roy of Trophy
Club, TX, Patricia Smith, Gail Corbly of Norman, OK and son, Jerry Masters and
wife Cindy of Norman, OK; grandchildren, Steve Smith, Donna Martin, David Corbly,
Douglas Corbly, Dana Martin, Melanie Moulton, James Culbertson, and Laura
Masters; great-grandchildren, Marta Smith, Shekinah Boulos, Michelle Martin,
Zachary Martin, Jaden Smith, Jonathan Corbly, Rachael Corbly, Stephani Smith,
Timothy Corbly, Sean Corbly, Megan Corbly, Chris Corbly and Lucas Moulton and
one great great-grandchild. Ida is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews,
cousins and a host of family and friends.

staff of Grace Living Center. Contributions may be made to the American Red
Cross 1205 Halley Ave. Norman, OK 73072
