Jasmine (Turner)
Ledbetter, 85, passed away peacefully at her home in Norman, Oklahoma on
Wednesday, September 11, 2013. She was born September 25, 1927 in Fullerton,
Nebraska to parents Lloyd and Estelle (Tomlinson) Turner.
Jasmine loved art, and her abilities allowed her to spend many years working as
an artist here in Norman. She was deeply involved in several organizations that
she felt very passionate about including: Serving on the Board of Directors for
Cleveland County Historical Society, Firehouse Art Center of Norman, the Alpha
Gamma Delta Sorority, and for Republic Women’s Club.
Jasmine is survived by her daughters; Sharon and husband Vester Adams Jr. and
LeeAnn and husband Joe Burgess both of Norman,OK; one brother, Sgt. Allan Paul
Turner, Army Retired, of Floresville, TX; grandchildren; Jasmine Estelle Taylor
of Costa Mesta, CA, Jacob Ellis Adams of Norman, OK, Crystal Sumrall of Norman,
OK, Vester Adams III of Mesa, AZ, Phillip Adams of Allen, TX, and Ina St. George
of Oxford, England; and a host of friends.
She is preceded in death by her
parents, and a special Aunt and Uncle; I.R. and Jasmine McQueen.
Services for Jasmine will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2013
at the Chapel of Havenbrook Funeral Home, 3401 Havenbrook St., Norman, OK.
Private Interment services will take place at
IOOF Cemetery of Norman, OK.
Arrangements for Jasmine and her family were placed in the care of the Vice
family at the Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman. Memorial Donations may be made
to the Alzheimer’s Association Oklahoma Chapter, 2448 E. 81st Street, Suite
3000, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74137.
