Troy Kaye Keller, of Thomas, OK, passed away Saturday, January 21, 2017.  He was born May 7, 1931 to Clyde Owen Keller and Vere Marjorie Logsdon Keller.

T.K. grew up and completed his grade schooling in Thomas, where he both boyishly romped and played but also learned the meaning of hard work on his family’s farm.  He was awarded a full football scholarship to the University of Oklahoma, winning their first National Championship in 1950 and finishing with a bachelor’s degree in business.  T.K. proudly served his country as a pilot for the U.S. Army.  He then went on to open, own, and operate Keller Sports in Oklahoma City for over 30 years.  In college, T.K. met and married the love of his life, Donna Jean Russell.  They raised their two children, Karin and Klaire, in Oklahoma City and eventually settled in Norman.  The couple spent 53 sincere years together hand in hand.

T.K. held many interests and passions throughout his life.  He enjoyed athletics immensely, both in participation and as a spectator.  Football was “king” in the Keller household, and T.K.’s only competition when it came to rooting for the Sooners was in that of his wife, Donna.  They also enjoyed games of strategy, such as Chess, Bridge, or any number of card games.  T.K.’s talent and passion for aviation bubbled over into his civilian life, piloting gliders or sailplanes whenever he had the opportunity and derived great satisfaction in doing so, maintaining a deep appreciation for the sky and the wonder of flight.  In his down time, T.K. also took great pleasure in painting.  He was an accomplished artist and produced numerous oil paintings throughout his life.  T.K. and Donna worshipped at First Baptist Church in Norman, where they were happily involved and had a great many close friends.

T.K. was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Vere; his siblings Calvin, Jack, Richard, and Jeannie; and his wife Donna.  He is survived by his brothers, Mike, Bill, and Tom; his daughters Karin and Klaire; his grandchildren Kodie, Shea, Travis, and Lainey; as well as many loving great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 10:00 am Wednesday, January 25, 2017 in the Chapel of Havenbrook Funeral Home.  Interment will follow at I.O.O.F. Cemetery, 1913 N. Porter Street in Norman.
