Georgia Francis
“Peggy” Jolls departed this life on November 16, 2010 at the age of 80. She was
born April 6, 1930 in Pampa, TX to Patrick and Myrtle Lyng and moved with her
family to Norman, OK in 1940 where she spent the rest of her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Patrick and Myrtle Lyng; brother,
Patrick Joseph Lyng; sisters, Della Katherine “Patsy” Burnett and Eileen
McWilliams.
She is survived by her life partner, Earl Short; sons, Robert “Bobby” Jolls and
his partner Rosemary Barnes of Gordonville, TX, Ricky Jolls and his wife Ronda
of Norman, OK, Frank Jolls of Austin, TX; daughter, Barbara J. McClure-Mize of
Norman; stepdaughter, Sandi Kruse and her husband Roger; stepson, Roland Short
and his wife Janet; brother, Gene Lyng of Alvin, TX; sister, Annabelle Woodrow
of Norman, OK; eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
She retired from the University of Oklahoma in 1992. She belonged to the
Eastern Star, Amaranth, White Shrine and the Moose Lodge. She had large extended
family, a host of friends and enjoyed traveling. She was outgoing with a great
outlook on life and a positive influence on others. She was a wonderful mother
and partner and will be remembered in our hearts forever.
The family requests memorials be made in Georgia's name to Town & Country
Church, P O Box 722283, Norman, OK 73072. The family will greet friends from
6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M., Thursday, November 18, 2010 at Havenbrook Funeral Home,
3401 Havenbrook St., Norman, OK. Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M.,
Friday, November 19, 2010 in the Havenbrook Funeral Home Chapel with interment
following in the IOOF Cemetery, Norman
under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home.
