Linda Anne Jenkins,
73, of Norman, passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2015.
Linda was born on December 19, 1941 in Rockville Centre, NY to her parents, the
late Horace and Dorothy (Brown) Hulley. Growing up in Lynbrook, NY, she
possessed an adventurous spirit which was a hallmark of her life and inspired
her to travel to Hawaii at the age of 17 after working 3 jobs to earn the money
to go. While in Hawaii, she met the love of her life, Ron, who was stationed
there while serving in the Navy. They were eventually married and lived in
Hawaii and Alaska before settling in Norman, Oklahoma. Prior to her trip to
Hawaii, she began her career in banking, also at age 17, which would last for 51
years, culminating in her association with Arvest Bank in Norman where she
worked for43 years before retiring. Following her retirement, Linda spent much
of her time knitting, crocheting, and doing various types of needlework, but of
course her real passion was spending time with her family and doting over
grandchildren, whom she adored.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Ron Jenkins of Norman; two children,
Ben Jenkins and wife Tra of Norman and Valerie Adair and husband, Brad of Ft.
Smith, Arkansas; two grandchildren, Britney Adair and Ty Adair; one brother,
David Hulley and wife, Anne; and one sister, Joan Lent.
