Luke Ray Houston, 76, died in Norman on October 31, 2010 after a lengthy illness.
He was born on
August 15, 1934 near Ringling, Oklahoma to Raymond and Winifred Houston. He
attended Claypool, Mountain Home and Ringling schools in Jefferson County and
graduated from Ringling High School. For many years he was an oilfield worker
in Oklahoma and New Mexico. After leaving Ringling, he lived in Oilton,
Lexington, and Norman, Oklahoma.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and is survived by his sister Nell
Pryor; nephew Dick Pryor and his wife Lisa; great-niece Becca Vermelis and her
husband Imants; and great-nephew Greg Pryor, all of Norman. He is also survived
by his dear friends, Merle and Charlette Slawson of Norman.
Private graveside services will be held on Wednesday, November 3 at 2:00 p.m. at the IOOF Cemetery in Norman, under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home.
