united in marriage in June of 1929, and moved to Texas where Rex was engaged in
the Oil Field Industry. They relocated to Elk City, Oklahoma, and later Rex
began training to become an Oklahoma Highway Patrolman in the first Oklahoma

Investigator for Senator Robert S. Kerr. The Kerrs and the Hawks' were longtime
friends and professional associates and enjoyed their time traveling and working
together. Rex retired in the mid 1970's and he passed away on January 7, 1986.
After Rex's death, Margery remained in Norman, where she was active in the
Senior Choir at the First Baptist Church of Norman and the Norman Sewing Club.
