Arlene E'Lois Hatcher , 95, died Saturday, May 21, 2011, in Norman. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday in the University Christian Church with interment following in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery of Norman. Arrangements are under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home.
She was born April 24, 1916, in Moundville, Mo., to Charles and Lena (Colson) Davis. She was united in marriage June 24, 1939, in Shawnee to Francis M. "Judge" Hatcher .
Arlene graduated from Wolf High School and attended Oklahoma State University and East Central University where she studied journalism. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and camping. She and her husband were charter members of University Christian Church. Arlene was dedicated to her prayer group and volunteering at the church.
Arlene is survived by two sons, Charles Hatcher and wife Wanda of Norman and Don Hatcher and wife Judy of Sebring, Fla.; one daughter, Nancy Hatcher Guerra and husband Dr. Rudy of Houston, Texas; six grandchildren, Brooke Hatcher of Sebring, Matt Hatcher and wife Holly of Norman, Amy Kennedy of Norman, Amanda Guerra of Oklahoma City, Andrew Guerra of Houston and Olivia Rose Guerra of Houston; three great-grandchildren, Landon Kennedy, Lauren Kennedy and Addison Hatcher .
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Francis "Judge" Hatcher ; her daughter, Patricia Hatcher ; and her brother, Charles Davis.
The family would like to thank Sterling House Assisted Living Center for all of their care and love for Arlene .
