Roy Hartman, age 92, of Norman, OK. Passed away Wednesday
January 27, 2016. He was born July 7, 1923 in Noble, Oklahoma to Frank P.
Hartman and Estes (Meltabarger) Hartman.
Roy married Pauline Mappes on March 20, 1947. Together they raised five sons.
Roy’s life was centered on his family and church. Roy worked as an Aircraft
Engine Mechanic, retiring from Tinker Air Force Base in 1984. Roy was very proud
of his service in the U.S. Marines Corps. He served during WWII and took part in
The Battle of Iwo Jima, earning a Purple Heart. Roy was very active in his
church at Trinity Lutheran. Every Sunday at the Hartman’s house was a Holiday, a
full feast celebrating family and the Sabbath.
He was preceded in death by his Wife, Pauline of 67 years, his parents; Frank
and Estes, two brothers, three sisters and numerous brother and sister in-laws;
Roy is survived by his sons, Paul and wife Lois of Vincennes IN, Kenneth and
wife Pam of Norman, Dale and wife Brenda of Norman, David and wife Susan of
Noble, Wayne and wife Cathy of Norman; Fifteen grandchildren, and Seventeen
great grandchildren. One sister Ellen Jones, one brother in-law and eight sister
in-laws.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m., Friday, January 29, 2016, at the
Havenbrook Funeral Home with family receiving friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Funeral Services will begin at 10:30 a.m., Sat., January 30, 2016 at Trinity
Lutheran Church 603 Classen Blvd, Norman, OK 73071with interment following at
I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Norman, Ok.
Memorials may be made in memory of Roy to Trinity Lutheran Mortgage Principal
Fund.
