Pauline Louise
Hartman, age 90, of Norman passed away Thursday, September 25, 2014. She was
born December 22, 1923 in Norman, Oklahoma to Henry Peter Mappes and Wilhelmine
Louise (Hansmeyer) Mappes.
Pauline married Roy Glenn Hartman on March 20, 1947. Together they raised five
sons. Pauline’s life centered around her family and church. She loved to cook
for her family and church activities especially fried chicken, bread and pies.
She enjoyed making ceramics and giving them to her family and friends. Pauline
was a Sunday School teacher, member of LWML, sang in the church choir and played
the organ at Trinity Lutheran. She also took pleasure in decorating her home
and church for holidays. Every Sunday was a holiday at the Hartman house.
Pauline would prepare a full feast celebrating family and the Sabbath.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Ellanora Hansmeyer; four
brothers: Henry Mappes, Eddie Mappes, Martin Mappes, Ernest Mappes.
Pauline is
survived by her husband Roy of 67 years; sons: Paul and wife Lois of
Vincennes, IN, Kenneth and wife Pam of Norman, Dale and wife Brenda of Norman,
David and wife Susan of Noble, Wayne and wife Cathy of Norman; twin sister
Arlene Smith of Mustang; sisters: Dorothy Bauer of Houston, TX, Carolyn Hurst
of Pond Creek, OK, Mary Frazier of Choctaw, OK, Nancy Bailey of Choctaw, OK,
Wilma Stone and husband George of Lee’s Summit, MO, Elsie Metzler of St. Louis,
MO; sister-in-laws: Doris Mappes, Ellen Jones, Pauline Hartman; Fifteen
grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, September 29, 2014 at
Havenbrook Funeral Home with family receiving friends 6:00 p.m. 8:00 p.m.
Funeral Services will begin at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 603 Classen Blvd., Norman, OK, 73071 with interment following at Norman I.O.O.F., Norman, OK.
