Harper,
Vivian “Kay”, 83, passed away Wednesday, November 17, 2010 in
Norman, Oklahoma. She was born March 9, 1927 in Ogemaw, Arkansas to
Claude and Amy (Frazier) Harrison. She attended Fordyce High
School in Fordyce, Arkansas before she met and married her husband
of 50 years, William D. Harper.
Kay was known for her infectious laugh and her welcoming spirit.
She enjoyed entertaining in her home with dinner and a friendly game
of bridge. In her earlier years, she enjoyed bowling and
volunteering at her church and was a past president of the Methodist
Women's Association. She was very proud to be a Harper and loved
each member of her family. She will be missed by her family and
friends. Kay is survived by son, David “Mike” Harper and wife
Rhonda Harper Howk of Norman; granddaughter, Anngela Harper Kirby
and her son Darreck Kirby; grandson, Justin Harper and his daughter
Joscelyn Harper; grandson Jeff Harper; grandson Tony Brooksher; son
Mark Harper and wife Kathi of Collinsville, OK; grandchildren Mark
David Burwell, Hollie Olson and her daughter Milani Olson, Amy
Harper Watson and husband Ty, Jill Fritz and Michael Fritz; a niece,
Susie Speer; and a host of nephews, nieces, family and friends. She
is preceded in death by her husband, William D. Harper; her parents;
sisters, Mary Speer and Billie Gray; nephew, Freddie Speer and
brother-in-law, Dan Speer.
