 Mary Elizabeth Tabb Hambleton, 90, died Sunday, March 20th at her home in Norman. Services will be held in Norman at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 23rd at McFarlin Memorial United Methodist Church.

She was born in Tabb, Virgina on October 27, 1925 to Elizabeth Hoxie Tabb and Howard Tabb. She graduated from Poquoson High School in Poquoson, Virginia in 1941 and attended Springfield Teachers College, Springfield, Missouri for 2 years.

She met her husband, Edgar Allen Hambleton who was stationed at Langley Air Force Base near Hampton, Virginia. They were married at Langley Air Force Base Chapel on June 19, 1948 and shared a long military life together stationed at various Air Force bases throughout the United States and overseas.

She was an active member of McFarlin United Methodist Church.

Mary was active as a driver for Meals on Wheels, Norman for 30 years, a volunteer for Norman Regional Health System Hospital Auxiliary; an avid supporter of University of Oklahoma sports and fine arts, was selected as Volunteer of the Year for United Way, Norman in 2004. She and her husband were members of the OU Good Sam's Club and traveled annually to south Texas during the winter months. They also attended many out of state University of Oklahoma football games.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband Edgar, of 56 years in 2005, her parents, step father, William Moore and son-in-law Royce Weddle of Norman.

She is survived by her four children David and wife Sue of Morrisonville, NY, Cheryl Weddle of Norman, Kathleen Carson and husband Jack of Noble, OK and Mark and wife Janet of Tahlequah, OK. Her sister Jean Forrest Clarke of Yorktown, VA. Nine grandchildren, Todd Hambleton, Heather Hambleton, Danny Weddle and wife Shelby, Michael Weddle and wife Melinda, Dana Weddle, Travis Williams and wife Devon, Jason Williams and wife JoJo, Marisa Hambleton and Matthew Hambleton. Fifteen great grandchildren, Jesse Maloney, Sam and Jonah Weddle, Claire, Marcus, Phoenix, and Chloe Weddle, Colton and Kase Williams, Jackson, Finley, and Declyn Williams, Major Leach, Jude Driskoll and Indie Mahan.

Of her many accomplishments, she considered her family to be her greatest. She was affectionally called "Meema" by her grandchildren and "Toodles" by her close family members. The family suggest that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Meals on Wheels Norman, PO Box 1371, Norman, 73070, Norman Regional Health Foundation, PO Box 1308, Norman 73070, McFarlin Memorial United Methodist Church, PO Box 6390, Norman 73070, or charity of your choice. Burial will be at 100F in Norman.

The family would like to thank Life Springs Home Health especially Molly Ross, for her care and dedication, as well as Phyllis and Tony Madden for their care and devotion.
