Funeral services
for Mr. Don Germeo, age 84, of Norman will be held at 10:00 am Saturday,
September 25, 2010 in The Chapel of the Havenbrook Funeral Home, 3401 Havenbrook
Street in Norman.
Don was born April 7, 1926 in Clarendon, New York to Anthony and Adeline (Gardella)
Germeo. He passed away Wednesday morning, September 22, 2010 at his home in
Norman.
Don attended public schools in Holley, New York later enlisting into the United
States Navy on April 14, 1943. He was Honorably Discharged on June 15, 1960.
Don was united in marriage to Miss Jerelyn Joy Walker in June of 1969 in Texas.
He and Jerelyn made their home in Norman. Don was employed with Tinker Air
Force Base as an aircraft mechanic, serving more than 31 years before retiring
on August 3, 1987.
After his retirement, Don worked at St. Luke's United Methodist Church and the
University of Oklahoma. He continued to enjoy his animals, working with
aircraft mechanics and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Survivors include his son, Gordon Germeo of Norman; two daughters; Charlene
Bushee and her husband, Thomas of Norman; Lucinda Jones and her husband, Rodney
of Tecumseh, OK; one brother; Cliff Germeo of Holley, New York; 12
grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.
Don was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jerelyn Germeo on March 23,
2007 and two sisters.
Burial will conclude in the I.O.O.F
Cemetery in Norman under the direction of the Havenbrook Funeral Home of
Norman.
