Floyd, Andrew, 47,
passed away peacefully Thursday, January 3, 2013 in Norman, Oklahoma after a
long battle with Lou Gehrig's Disease. He was born June 3, 1965 in Norman,
Oklahoma to Glenn and Beverly (Smyers) Floyd.
Andy served his country in the United States Air Force. He owned and operated
two construction companies spanning over 20 years, Wildhorse Construction and
Floyd Construction and was associated with the Dillard Group for many years.
Andy enjoyed many outdoor activities including hiking, boating, skiing,
airplanes, traveling and especially loved spending time at the family ranch. He
also loved watching OU football, OKC Thunder and the Dallas Cowboys with his
friends and family. Andrew was a member of the First Baptist Church of Norman,
a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity at the University of Oklahoma where he received
his education, a member of the Norman Board of Realtors and a past member of the
Norman Chamber of Commerce.
Andrew is survived by his parents, Glenn and Judy Floyd of Norman; brother, Mark
Floyd and wife Carrie of Norman; sister, Cynthia Diane Floyd and husband John
Herider of Norman; stepbrother, Keith Johnson and wife Lori of Blanchard;
stepsister, Lynne Driver and husband Russ of Norman; niece, Kristy Johnson of
Blanchard and nephew, Gary Driver of Norman.
He is preceded in death by his
mother, Beverly Floyd; sisters, Erika Lynne and Angela Suzanne; and
grandparents, W. C. and Hettie Floyd and Joe and Hilda Smyers.
The family would like to thank Home Instead Senior Care for the care given to
Andy during his illness.
The family will greet friends from 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m., Sunday, January 6,
2013 at Havenbrook Funeral Home.
Services will be held 1:30 p.m., Monday, January 7, 2013 at First Baptist Church
of Norman, 211 W. Comanche with
interment following in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Norman. Arrangements for
Andrew and his family were placed in the care of the Vice Family at the
Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman.
