George August Diehm Jr. was born August 18, 1930 and died at home surrounded by his family September 19, 2010 in Norman, Oklahoma.He was born to George August Diehm and Edna Mae Morren. George attended Enterprise School through the 8th grade before graduating from Norman High School in 1949. He retired from Thunderbird State Park in 1993 with 27 years of service.
George was honorably discharged after four years of service from the United States Air Force. George was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and work on his property.
George is survived by Maxine Sawyer of Norman, companion of 40 years; four children, Wayne Diehm and wife Sheri of Norman, Janette Cline and husband Steve of Norman, Sandra Diehm of Noble, and Barbara Musgrave of Noble; seven grandchildren, Tosha, Sherice, Lindsey, Colter, Chase, Levi, and Matthew.
Funeral
Services will be held Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at 10 a.m. in
the Chapel of Havenbrook Funeral Home with internment following in
the IOOF Cemetery in Norman,
Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral
Home of Norman, Oklahoma.
