Adenya “Denie” Ann Crawford, 71, of Norman went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, December 11, 2014, surrounded by her family. She was born on June 25, 1943 in Duncan, Oklahoma to Bill Palmer and Alma Nell McCracken.

Adenya grew up in Duncan, Oklahoma and graduated from Duncan High School.  She attended Central State in Edmond, Oklahoma, where she met the love of her life, Phil Crawford.  They were married on July 29, 1962 in Duncan, Oklahoma and recently celebrated 52 years of marriage.  Phil was her devoted husband and caregiver. They were always together and he never left her side.  He loved taking care of her and she loved and appreciated him so much.

Over the years, Adenya managed several retail businesses. She had a knack for decorating and enjoyed setting up displays for retail stores and decorating at home.  She spent years involved in every aspect of her children's lives; willing to sew costumes, bake cookies, run taxi, travel to events, and volunteer wherever help was needed.  One of her true joys was teaching Sunday school, where she was a member of First Baptist church of Norman, Oklahoma.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Alma Nell Palmer.

Adenya is survived by her loving husband, Phil; her daughter Stacey Sulzen, son-in-law Mike, and grandchildren Lauren and Avery of Frisco, Texas; her daughter Candace McNeese, son-in-law Brad, and grandchildren Cole, Cade, and Emma of Tulsa, Oklahoma.  She is also survived by her sister, Jimmye Gayle Tull, brother-in-law LeRoy, nephew Ryan, and niece Kellye Brown of Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Adenya’s greatest joy in life were spending time with her family and being “Nana” to her five grandchildren.  Even through her many bouts of illness, she never gave up.  She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, nana, and friend.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Services for Adenya are 1:00 pm on Monday, December 15, 2014 at Havenbrook Funeral Home Chapel, 3401 Havenbrook St., Norman, Oklahoma.

Viewing will be open to friends and family from 11:00 am-12:40 pm, preceding the 1:00 pm service.  Interment will follow at IOOF Cemetery in Norman, Oklahoma.  Condolences may be shared at www.HavenbrookFuneralHome.com
